Why PTA Banned DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones in Pakistan free

Some of you might received an SMS from PTA(Pakistani Telecommunication authority) saying that don’t Import, Resale or use DECT 6.0 cordless phone(Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) as it’s against the rules and you may have to visit jail. Wireless or cordless phones are very common now a days and we all use it in home and offices for our convenience but why PTA is forcing us to not use this facility. Well the answer is very simple, frequency used by these handsets interfere with frequency used by cellular companies(like Mobilink, Telenor, Warid, Ufone and Zong) and hence reducing the mobile signals across all Pakistan. But the good thing is that you can still use DECT 6 cordless phones which operate on a different frequency note.

DECT 6 vs DECT 6.0 Technology

Pakistan is not the first country where these kind of handsets are banned, USA also banned it due to the same reason. DECT 6 Cordless Phones uses 2.4 Ghz frequency which is totally legal to use in Pakistan where as DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones uses 1.9 Ghz frequency which is of course reserved for mobile phone companies. So it’s all matter of some frequencies which you have to change other wise PTA may take some serious action against you. But again keep in mind that not all cordless phones are banned and all you have to do is to pick the right set with 2.4 Ghz operating frequency(mainly written on the box).
awam ko mtla kia jata ha k dect 6.0 cordless phone ki dramad frokht istmal ghair qanoni ha
